Tonight, we will continue the Linn County tradition of inviting the candidates and the public to the lobby outside the Auditor’s Office to view the election results as they are reported. If you cannot join us in the lobby, you can view the results at elections.linncounty.org (Try it now and confirm it works)

One caveat to keep in mind as you view the results online is that the Absentee Ballot (precinct 87) votes will NOT be included in the overall vote totals UNTIL precincts 1-86 have fully uploaded their optical scan votes AND their touch screen votes into the vote total compiler. Holding the absentee ballot votes for last gives us a chance to confirm/recheck the numbers before they are published to the world. Our job is to ensure that every vote is counted and reported correctly.

Remember: Whatever we report is UNOFFICIAL until the votes are canvassed next Tuesday, June 10th.
